Who We Are |
Strengthening Outcomes with Autism Resources (SOAR) began in 2010 as a project of five moms in search of resources, services, and support for their child on the spectrum. SOAR quickly spread its wings into a nonprofit status in August of 2012, and in March of 2015, SOAR opened its applied behavior therapy center for children with autism in Ponchatoula, LA. Just five years later, we added our Chalmette location, SOAR Southshore to our growing family in May of 2020.

SOAR is dedicated to providing vital resources and support to families affected by autism in our multi-parish area. We offer support to individuals with autism through applied behavioral therapy (ABA), education advocacy, and life skills programs at our two locations. In addition to these efforts, we aim to foster a community of support and awareness through a multitude of initiatives, including community events, adult social outings, workshops and training programs.
