Who We Are |
Strengthening Outcomes with Autism Resources (SOAR) began in 2010 as a small project led by five moms searching for resources, services, and support for their children on the autism spectrum. SOAR quickly took flight, achieving nonprofit status in August 2012. In March 2015, SOAR opened its first autism center for children in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. Just five years later, our reach expanded with the opening of SOAR Southshore in Chalmette in May 2020. In 2022, SOAR continued to grow by adding Life Skills programming to support adults with autism.

SOAR is dedicated to providing vital resources and support to families affected by autism throughout our multi-parish area. We support individuals with autism through applied behavior analysis (ABA), speech therapy, education advocacy, and life skills programs at our two locations. Beyond these services, SOAR is committed to fostering a strong community of support and awareness through a variety of initiatives, including community events, adult social outings, and workshops and training programs.
